Did anyone here order the annual forms and pubs on cdrom
published by NTS for 22$?

And if so, have you received volume I yet?

Yes and No. I just assumed it was because it takes mail so
long to get to Thailand. Maybe not?

Ordered, but have not received yet. I think they said 1st
vol due out mid-Jan about a month later then last year.

Harlan, I have the first pkg X and thought that I had the
NTS CD but it was the state (IL) version. Both were ordered
on 9/23/03.

I ordered it from NTIS but have yet to receive Vol 1 OR Vol
2 yet. Vol 2 is supposed to be sent out in early January
(???), but they are usually late.

Harlan, I just checked the NTIS website for release dates.
Now they are saying that the first release will be in LATE
JANUARY 2004 and the final release in EARLY MARCH 2004.
Seems like they get later every year (blame it all on
Congress?).

You may have to download forms and pubs you need in the next
month from the IRS website, at least until they get their CD
act together. My prior experience has been that the first
release leaves out a lot of necessary forms or publications
(just when you need them) and you have to wait for the final
release. Delaying this until Early MARCH is unacceptable.
Unfortunately, I don't think Pub 1194 or Package X is any
more timely.

I also got my Illinois disk. They seem to have their act
together out there. New York (which charges for theirs)
always comes much later.

Has it ever happened to you, that after waiting for a long
time for something, and putting off calling about it but
finally actually asking and next day it's a done deal?
That was what I had in mind when I posted the question. I
may not have phrased that right, but you get the idea I
hope.

But no...... it didn't happen, so I'm still waiting too.
Maybe tomorrow.

Also Missy, now I know who I can contact when/if I ever have
any Illinois questions for my one and only Illinois client!

ATX used NTS for efiling a few years ago. It was the worst
experience I've ever had with a software company.

Update from the NAEA webboard - the stuff has not even left
the IRS yet to go to the CD printer.
