Hedge-funds books

Hi everyone.
I actually don't know if I am off-topic but I am looking for books
about hedge-funds (quantitative ones, if it's possible). Can anyone
suggest me any good ones?
Thanks in advance!

It's not really off-topic, but it would help, I suppose,
if you could be more specific about what you're trying
to find out and why.

Are you trying to get a job at a hedge fund? Or trying
to choose one for your portfolio? Or just trying to
get a general understanding of the business?

And, more - what *kind* of hedge fund? There are as many
different hedge fund styles as there are mutual fund and
investing styles. Some highly leveraged, some actually
hedging out certain risks, some making macro economic bets,
some doing fixed income arbitrage, etc. etc

Originally hedge fund meant "hedging": two contrary positions that
reduce the risk of each other.

Today it just means a fund of less 100 members of high net worth.
This means the manager doesnt have to disclose as much investing
detail as a regular fund and members can stand the risk.

Are you posting responses that are easy for others to follow?

Hi, sorry for the slow reply.
I am a university student and I would like to investigate the hedge
funds world for my final work. I already have an overview about them
but I would like to enter more in the specific and find out which
quantitative models that are used in the hedge funds area. My idea is
to pick one of them and either try to develop a model myself or to
test an already existing model by using real datas. I am considering
"Funds of Hedge Funds" by Greg N.Gregoriou or "Hedge Funds:
Quantitative Insights" by François-Serge Lhabitant. Do you know these
books? Are they any good? And also, do you have any others to suggest
me or any web sites which could be useful?

Thanks in advance!
