I'm very new to how donations work with tax laws, etc... So bare with me and thank you in advanced for replies.
I as an individual am about to start a website offering free content to anyone to view, so if I setup a paypal donation button where people could donate a fixed $ amount and in return I would send them a t-shirt... (Say I send out 24 shirts during year one and each shirt costs me $17.00 each to make and I get 24 donations of $17.00. And also, this would be the only donation/amount I'd receive all year if I received 24 donations.) Do I need to do anything special reguarding tax laws, ...etc?
The t-shirts are just to promote the website that's it. So I would break even if all 24 shirts were sent out from 24 donations.
Hopefully this wasn't too confusing!
Thanks again,
OZ
