What the average citizen there doesn't understand is that they have the power, but not through votes or through corrupt systems. They literally need to overthrow the corrupt politicians one at a time. And many citizens will die in this process until the corrupt understand their time has come.

But the average person there is so caught up in survival that changing the government is like a pipe-dream. And most abandon it and deal with the consequences instead.

EXACTLY this is the point, politicians transforms people to "fight" everyday for their survival. By this way people ignore the corruptions and only think how to survive daily. And politicians continue what they do. And slowly slowly understand and accept that corruption is something that is ok to happen.

You know, I never really thought about it this way, but it totally makes sense. Then, by their very nature politicians are enemies of the state rather than the public servants they should be.

People aren't stupid. Once they realize what they are being robbed of, they stop their work, their daily lives, and take up arms to overthrow those in power that took from them. And then the process starts over again.

There's both arguments for and against it I think. It's hard to put money in any "off-shore" account without it looking or sounding dodgy. We in the UK used to have places like the Isle of Man and Jersey as principalities but these loops are soon to be closed I believe.
