USA How to account for fixed price shipping when actual costs vary

New to using accounting software. My wife is currently using QuickBooks 2009 to track her sales and costs for online sales. Our problem is accounting for actual shipping charges that vary and the customer is billed a fixed fee. How do we get the actual cost into the system without the invoice reflecting the actual fee?

There must be computer software programs available - Google it - that provide that information that can be integrated with Quickbooks.
I suggest you first contact Quickbooks though, and ask which specific software programs integrate well with their accounting system.
