USA How to find the missing dividends and additional investments?

Can someone explain how I find the missing values in the attached image of a summarized balanced sheet for two companies? Thanks!

For Plunkett :

Closing equity = Opening equity + Investment + Profit for the year - Dividends
40,000 = 12,000 + Investment + (215,000 - 175,000) - 15,000
So, Investment = 3,000
