USA How to get family tax benefits if you don't have a SSN for all the family members

Hello, I am in US (Illinois) on a TN Visa (Canadian NAFTA Work visa) and my family is on TD.

I am able to get a SSN on TN Visa but not my family as they are on TD.

Issues is that, when I filed my 2018 taxes, I didn't qualify for family benefits. My Accountant gave the reasoning that I can only get family benefits when my Wife/kids have SSN, which is the requirement when you fill out taxation forms.

Please advise workaround?

What good is a PTIN going to do? PTIN are issued to tax preparers. Perhaps you meant TIN for taxpayer identification numbers that are often issued to non-US persons that have US tax filing needs.
