How to learn USA Tax

Hi,
I am a newly qualified CMA. One of CPAs in US has offered me to work for him online. He has also asked me to learn US Tax before next Tax season. I am OK with Accounting and bookkeeping. But I am afraid how can I learn US tax practices as I have never visited USA in my life. Is it possible to learn USA taxation? If yes, then how can I start?

The best way to learn US taxation, IMHO, is through work experience. No amount of studying or academics will prepare you.

Get a basic understanding and be prepared to do research as you are confronted with new issues.

I do not live in USA. I am in Asia and I work from home.
