How to make a report by classification?

I have made a classification for all transactions related to a classification
which spans different categories and accounts. I was hoping I could make a
report to show me all transactions - grouped by category or ANYTHING at this
point for all transactions labeled with this classification... but I can't
seem to figure this out. It seems simple enough - go into customize on some
existing report and only check on the classification I want but that still
pulls transactions from all categories, whether or not they've been flagged
for this classification or not - help!! I must be missing something basic.

If all or none of the particular boxes are selected for the
classification, then transactions without that classification are
displayed. Select a subset, and other transactions are omitted.
So for a given classification, you could define an explicit member
called "null" or whatever. Select all but that one in a report
customization, and the report will only show transactions that
have a value for the classification.

Alternative: to avoid need for bogus/null class, in Customize
selectAll, and uncheck one classification, and reselect it. Then
those without the classification filled in will not show in the
report.

I would not call it basic. ;-)
