HTML Status Bar

Is it possible to put a selected customers YTD sales number on the Status bar
for POS?

We currently have their total visits, last visit, and total sales - but I am
trying to figure out a way to have the current year's sales there as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

the quickest and cheapest way to do it would be to use one of the custom
fields on the customer record and populate that with the YTD figure - it will
mean creating and running an SQL script on a regular basis (to keep it
updated).

Afshin,

I keep getting an ActiveX control error message, I have tried to enable everything, but I still havn't found the right one, any ideas to make it work?

Yes calculating the figure and placing it in a custom field of the customer
will do the trick. I am attaching a sample HTML Status bar that we give
away for free. Feel free to use it if you wish. Placethis in the Store
Operation HTML folder and point from administrator to that file.

I tried using it and got the same Active X error. I couldn't get it to work
either.

To get access to the ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer, Open IE, click
on Tools, click on Internet Options, click on the Security tab, Under
Internet Section(You might also have to do the same for Intranet
Section)click on the Custom Level button (near the bottom). Scroll down a
bit to ActiveX controls and plug-ins; here you will have several options.
Keep in mind that if you enable all the options, you are leaving your system
open to unwanted intrusions.

Here is how I have my settings:
Download signed ActiveX controls -- Prompt
Download unsigned ActiveX controls -- Disable
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe -- Disable
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins -- Enable
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting -- Enable

You might want to try enabling these options and see which one works for
you. Unfortunately there is no other way to fix this issue.

Afshin,

I tested this with all ActiveX controls set to either enable or prompt, for
both the Internet, and Intranet - still no go.

phintec, are you using the web reader or a newsreader like Outlook Express?
You have to be using a newsreader to see attachments.
