Importing Invoices using IIF

Greetings,

We are developers and are trying to import invoices into QuickBooks
using the IIF import file format. There are plenty of examples on the
NET but none that seem to make clear how to handle our problem.

Our customer has 3 collectable taxes. A TAX group has also been setup
that combiles them all into a single line at the bottom of her Invoice
template. We wish to duplicate this manual invoice method through the
IIF file which we will auto-generate.

Essentially, our IIF transaction looks something like this:

TRNS INVOICE AR 16.28
SPL INVOICE Revenue -15.00 revenue
SPL INVOICE tax_group
SPL INVOICE Tax One -0.75 tax_one AUTOSTAX
SPL INVOICE Tax Two -0.05 tax_two AUTOSTAX
SPL INVOICE Tax Three -0.45 tax_three AUTOSTAX
SPL INVOICE -1.28 ENDGRP

The file does get importeded. However, there is a corruption with the
invoice viewer in QuickBooks. Any ideas? Has anybody tried importing
Invoices with TAX Groups before? Are we missing something?

thanks,

tonys.

Assuming your headers are correct, the first think I notice
is that your 3 tax lines total to -1.25 -- so the transaction is
out of balance. QB always barfs on that.
