Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether there are still any "Index Bear"
type funds available that are open to private investors?
For those who don't know what these are, they are funds that attempt
to inversely track the performance of an index using derivatives, and
should produce returns in falling markets.
Gartmore used to offer these funds (actually, they still do, but I
think they got a bit spooked a while back and raised the minimum entry
to £100K and only seem to want Institutional Money), and I can't see
any alternatives.
Other solutions could be:
* Hedge Fund that uses Short strategies (but probably unavailable to
the masses).
* Using Covered Warrants.
Anyone aware of anything similar (including Closed Ended Listed
Vehicles).
Thanks
Neil.
