Installing on a new computer

What if any "adventures" am I going to have with Intuit trying to install
the current version of QB Pro 2003 on my new computer. Once installed it is
my intention to remove it completely from the old computer.

I want to remain legal but don't want to jump thru hoops and be told that my
software is illegal.

Before uninstalling from the old computer, inside the program, click F2. At
the top left of the screen you'll see a group of numbers...write them down,
particularly the Installation Key Code & Registration number then store in a
safe place. The key code should already be with your software though.
After installation you'll be prompted to register the software either by
phone or online. It should register without a problem online but if it
doesn't then you can use the "phone" feature and manually type in that
registration number you copied down. I have QB installed on my desktop &
laptop, several versions, and have had to reinstall them several times in
the last year without any problems from Intuit. I believe you only run into
problems when you try to register an installation of a very old copy of QB
as Intuit no longer registers/supports them. You'll be fine with '03
though.

It is completely legal for you to install your QB 2003 Pro on more than one
computer if it is for your own use. For example, you can have it installed
on your computer at work and on a laptop or home computer so you can use the
program when away from your workplace. Their software licensing agreement
for QB 2003 Pro says this is okay and the manual that came with the program
gives the above scenario as an authorized use of the program on more than
one computer.

When you install it on the new computer, choose register by phone even
though that doesn't seem to make sense. It will then ask for the key code
etc. and it will install. You won't have to call for permission even though
it said "by phone"..

All worked just as planned. Everything is installed and running.
