Integration with BCM - Contacts = Customers?

When connecting Accounting Pro 2007 with BCM 2007 (Outlook 2007 with Business
Contact Manager), their is a mismatch with contacts and accounts in BCM with
customers in Accounting. How can I get Contacts in BCM migrate to Customers
in Accounting? Also, can I get Accounts in BCM to migrate to Companies in
Accounting? It is especially important for Law Firm time entries to Contacts
(Clients) in BCM be able to be Billed in Accounting as the same Customers
(Client). How can this be achieved?

Gary,

The Customers within OA are Accounts in BCM. The Contacts within OA are
Business Contacts within BCM. If a Business Contact is created within BCM,
and not linked to an Account within BCM, then that Business Contact will not
appear within OA.

That being said, once the link between OA and BCM exists, then any Business
Contact that is created and associated to an Account within BCM will also
appear within OA under the correct Customer, and viceversa. Let me know if I
was unclear, or if you have any further questions.

What about "Vendors" in OA, what are they in BCM? Or does Microsoft pretend
Vendors and Customers are one and the same?

Jimmy,

There is currently no Vendor integration between BCM and OA. While I may
not agree with the reasoning, they essentially view BCM as a tool to handle
your customers, and not vendors. That being said, I practically live my
business life within Outlook/BCM, so I really hope this is something they are
cosidering for some future update/upgrade. I guess if enough people ask for
it, they will do it.

But if accounting software can't even print a decent check voucher, who wants
to ask Microsoft for anything else and wait for months or years !!? Don't we
need to do things right today?

So we go to a competitor because the boss wants it done right, whether the
boss is a vendor or the IRS or someone in the executive office. This program
is pitifully insufficient, unbelievably poor.

Jimmy,

We are really getting off topic here from the original thread, and I would
recommend a new thread on check-printing, or perceived lack of listening to
our requests. I will create a new thread and paste this posting of your into
it with me reply. It will be title "Printing Check Vouchers & Overall
Thoughts."

With regard to integration, I've asked this 24 pages ago in this forum, and
I'll keep asking, when will BCM and MOA have a link for the MOA 'customer
group'?? I categorize my accounts in BCM and need to run financials. If an
account is created in BCM, it automatically populates to MOA, which is good,
but WE NEED A COMMON FIELD (Customer Group).
