I'm wondering is the government trying to push all onto Tax credits? If so
whats their game?

Well that's this government for you. Offer your MP a free holiday or £1000,
then they might help you.

If I had realised him and his wife were lawyers from the beginning, he
wouldn't have got my vote. I was under the impression (in 1997) he an here
were just normal working class people.

They guy wouldn't know normal if it jumped up and slapped him in the face!
The government are not bothered about people. All they are bothered about
is getting their faces on TV. They put taxes up, but what for? I've not
seen any major change that we were promised.

If they pay you money, is there a difference?

Is it better to have one agency that can deal with you most of the time,
from not working to perhaps at some point getting work - and at least less
delays in getting tax credits?

Both income support and tax credits can entitle you to other help too.

If you get £x a week from income support, is there really any difference to
you if at some point they pay you the same amount from a different agency
instead?

I remember when you use to claim IB for yourself + income support for the
wife/partner/kids. Now its IB for yourself, and within the same benefit its
IB for the wife/partner/kids. so when I say is IS coming to an end I mean
just that.

Just to add:- lets say one claims IB for yourself and for wife/partner/kids,
and you have a mortgage. Normally help is only available with mortgage
interest payments, if you claim IS. (or this is what a beleive) I'm not
picking at straws here I just don't trust this government.

SIlly man.

They are both lawyers _ paid to tell other people's stories for money.

He's a politician - tells people what he thinks they want to hear.
No comment on first pint - need I say more?

I wouldn't knowingly vote for a lawyer

I wouldn't knowingly piss on one on fire in the street, even if I was
bursting. The trouble with this country is the law and litigation takes
precedence over everything, at this rate we'll have more lawers than
anything else.

How many lawyers does it take to screw in a light bulb?

They're too busy screwing you to screw in a light bulb.

Now that we have tax credits they seem to have conveniently changed the law
regarding recovery of overpayments from other benefits, they can take up to
33% off of any benefits payable, including IS now.

Many critics of the tax credit system believe that is one of the main
driving forces behind the government's obstinance. The chancellor was
strongly advised that the IR were not the people to administer the tax
credits but he swept aside all objections.

You can see the result for yourself.
