Hello everyone,

I am currently seeking my undergrad in accounting. I have about year and a half experience working in A/R and A/P. I was laid off about a month ago but started a new A/R position at a decent sized company this last Monday ($15@25hrs wkly). I feel it is a great opportunity because I am working in a confined space with the VP Controller, Accounting Manager, and the Staff Accountant. Whereas at my old company I was nowhere near these titles, our A/R staff was about 10 people so it was basically its own department.

Yesterday I was offered a position working at a small CPA firm ($12@25hrs wkly). She does mostly business tax with and 100 individual taxes a year as well as budgeting for companies and so forth. She has been in business for nearly 25 years and is very qualified. I feel that this would be a great opportunity as well. I will be training in QuickBooks and will basically be her right hand man.

I have no idea what I should do, I already have experience with AR/AP and really want to see the big picture rather than specializing in such a small facet of accounting. I have never worked with taxes or Quickbooks. Can someone please help me with this decision? I am not really worried about the pay differences, I am more so looking at opportunity right now.

Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance.
