Looking for those/anyone who has used the QB Quickbooks Customer Manager and ACT!

Hi
Currently I use and have for a long time--ACT to do my contact
management and scheduling. I have been pretty satisfied with it.

Presently I use QB Pro 2003.

I also use Hot Sync to sync with my Handera Palm--works out fairly
well.

However, there are drawbacks, with duplicate data entry being a main
one, along with the/my inability to close incidents or activities on
the Palm.

I have looked at a number of products that seem to be able to help the
duplicate data entry and the other 'failings' but have not been able
to find a suitable one.

This Customer Manager may have some of the tools I need but they do
not mention being able to import ACT data and I have 10+ years of
suctomer/contact data there.

I am looking to see if anyone has used the product with ACT and if I
am close to being on target about it's ability to help.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Joe

Bamboo Sticks in Gelly

I would really like to know the answer also, I think with ACT however you
can maybe export the data to ACCESS, then from there to Excel, and from
Excel to QB.

QB as far as I know is still in its infancy, very simple program with
potential a few years in the future.

you guys should really check out the new microsoft offering: small
business accounting with outlook w/business contact manager. the
combination is killer and BCM also supports mobility. buy them
individually or buy the full office sb mgmt edition.

http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/smallbusiness/management/default.mspx

Took a look and it may have possibilities.....Outlook though has
always been an issue for me. Act! is just simpler--or at least it has
been. I will read up more. Outlook with a contact manager...sounds
interesting...quick look does not show compatibilty with ACT!
though..more reading needed
Post appreciated.

.....talked with the QB people who advised that with my ACT 6.0 and QB
Pro 2003, I could use the two ACT products to accomplish single data
entry and ACT on the Palm to accomplish both access to contact info on
the palm--including working with/scheduling activities--while
synchronizing ACT and QB Data allowing the ACT data to be placed on
the Palm via ACT.

It is difficult to ask all the questions but it appears that
this/these products would accomplish the purpose and not get involved
with the Outlook behemoth(IMHO).

Both ACT and QB Pro seem to be solid products and supported pretty
well....and they both have built in backup procedures!!

....looking for comment/advice/concerns/bewares...

Thanks
Joe
