Lost Bank Account

We knew our father had accounts at a Bank that was declared insolvent, is it possible those funds are somewhere for his beneficiaries to claim?

I assume the bank was in Canada. First since the bank was declared insolvent, the question is if that bank was covered by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation. If so the deposit account was insured up to $100K. Next usually the govt will find a successor bank to take the deposits so research that. Finally, if the account went dormant due to no activity, try looking in the Unclaimed Property websites such as described here
