I think you are confused. Are you talking about being an employer
rather than setting up a limited company?

Usually monthly, can be quarterly but depends on the amount. Some rare cases
of annually but this depends on the frequency of payments of emoluments.

Strictly monthly / quarterly, but you can get away with annually if you tell
HMRC your paye is "directors only annual scheme". NB CIS must be paid over
monthly / quarterly.
