IRS publication 502 indicates • Payments of fees to doctors, dentists, surgeons, chiropractors, psychiatrists, psychologists, and nontraditional medical practitioners

would that include yoga? also: we have many items like cushions, husband has had several back surgeries, eye drops for dry eye, dry mouth remedies, gastrointestinal remedies (all recommended by a doctor) but bought over the counter.

Yoga sounds more like a personal expense of well-being, unless it was specifically prescribed by a licensed physician, so I would say no.

Over the counter medications are not deductible. The cushions would only work if they were specially designed for recovery and specifically prescribed by the doctor.
