Memo field

Is there a way to change the default setting of the memo field when printing
checks? As of right now the default is to print the company name and number.
Can we set it to print something else or do we have to manually change every
check?

Hello Malka,

Thank you for posting your SBA question for the group.

Under current SBA functionality, there is not a way to change the default
setting of the memo field when printing checks.

The company name and document number will show up if you go to write checks
after paying the bill if you select "to be printed". This can not be
changed. If you use the Write Checks feature from the Banking menu, you
can deselect "to be printed". Once you save the check, you can open up the
check in the account register and change the memo and then select the check
box "to be printed". The Memo field of the check will be blank if you use
the Write Checks window and print it right away.

You could also use the Reference field for anything you wanted to be
printed on the check stub.
