Merging 2 Accounts

I had to replace My A/X card & now I have 2 A/X Accounts set up.
I want to merge the old into the new Account.
But When I try to merge it does not tell me which one is merging into which
one.
I dont want to merge the new into the old number.
I want to merge all the old activity into the new Account number.

Keep an extra copy of your file or backup. Do the merge. If you
don't like the result, File->Restore.

Before I do the merge I need to know which account merges into which Account.
Do you bring up the Account that you want to keep & then choose from the
list the one you want to merge with or visa versa?

Assuming you are using the merge function in Money 2006/7, you will
not have that choice. You can only merge a non-online with an online
account.

To do what I think you want to do, I would disable the old account
for online access in Money. I would then change the credentials of
the old account to those of the new account.

Set up that account for online access. After you fetch transactions
for the revised credentials, I expect there to be a new (minutes
old) online account which you will merge with the existing account.
Expect a warning about losing old transactions. Merge anyway.

Again, keep backups in case you do not like a result, but I predict
success for you.

If your new and old accounts are already set up,

Rename the account you DON'T want to keep, something like 'A/X - old'. Then
merge the accounts, by merging 'A/X - old' into 'A/X'. Then 'A/X' - old is
no more and all the transactions are in the ONE account, called 'A/X'.

This way will NOT work. You need to disable online function and follow the
instructions from one of the above posts
