Thanks. In my file it is greyed out. Help says that it is for
matching online transactions (at the broker?) with the ones in
your data. I don't d/l transactions.
I just wanted you to know that the checkbox was there, I don't
think it is related to your problem. If the checkbox is greyed
out, the security is *not* matched to an online security. I see
Morningstar ratings for securities which I do not get downloaded
transactions for (which therefore are not matched to an online
security).
Now if you had the wrong ticker symbol, I would understand that.
There are some funds that do not have Morningstar ratings. I
own several Vanguard funds; I have a Morningstar rating for only
one; the rest do not have Morningstar ratings in Quicken ... but
they don't have Morningstar ratings at Morningstar either: I
think they are too new to have been rated. Have you checked
your funds at Morningstar to see whether a rating exists for
them?
I have some other funds that show "N/A" for Morningstar ratings:
I can only guess at the reasons. Some are money market funds
which don't get rated. A couple are Legg Mason funds and
Morningstar only has ratings for some of Legg Mason's funds.
One is a Wells Fargo fund that was taken over from Montgomery
Funds; possibly this does not have a rating because it has not
been managed by Wells Fargo long enough.
The only fund I see which has a Morningstar rating, but which
shows as "N/A" in Quicken is "Vanguard Short-term Treasury A"; I
don't own it, it is only in my Watch List (and put there long
ago, and mostly forgotten since). I have no explanation for
this, the fund has been in existance since 2001.
I see ratings for Harbor, Janus, MFS, Mutual, Nuveen, Turner,
USAA, to name some; so it appears to me that the Morningstar
ratings are working overall; I'm not sure why your particular
funds are not showing ratings. Maybe if others comment, a
pattern will emerge.
