Move an investment to another account

I want to move some investments to another account. Transferring an
investment either leaves all the transactions with the old investment and
gives you only a "Transfer In" in the new account, or it voids all the
original transactions. How do I do a clean transfer over?

Here are a few ways:

1. If you want to move all of the investments in that account, you
can change the Details of the account to match the new broker.

2. You can do a Cut and Paste to Account of each transaction from
the old account to the new account.

3.You can do a TransferOut transaction from the old account to the
new account. This may be one you tried and did not like.

4. You can go to the Investment Activities for the particular
investment. That will show you the transactions. Edit each
transaction to change the Investment Account. You may need to put in
a temporary AddShares dated early to help with this; delete when
done.

Ceekee,

Create the new account.
Click on the details of the old account.
Click on "Close Account"
The software should ask if you want to move the transactions to another
account.
Follow the dialog boxes and it should set you up.
