Multiple Receivable Accounts

Our non-profit uses separate accounts for Grants receivable, Pledges
Receivable, and normal Accounts Receivable. It seems that the normal
invoicing doesn't offer a choice as to which receivable an invoice is
debited/. How could we direct the sale as we wish?

Bucks vs Bytes

The "Account" dropdown (to right of "Customer:Job") in the Invoice form
allows choice of any A/R account for that invoice, or am I
misunderstanding the problem?

That option does not exist if there is only 1 Account Receivable.
(QB2000CAN)

I just tested that in a "Copy of (myCompany).qbb"

Went into Chart of Accounts and set up a new A/R, whent to Customers >
Invoice and now the "Account" drop down Box with both A/R's appeared.

In my test, I made A/R2 a sub-account of A/R but, in a Trial Balance it
does not show (it does when removing the sub-account check mark).

When set as sub-account, the test invoice amount showed up in A/R2 and
the total in A/R.
This makes sense to me but seems to be wrong, looking at the trial
balance.

Please educate me (I don't need the second A/R but the OP needs to set
up properly).

I'm in the process of moving the organization from Peachtree to QB2005. I
was testing on the sample company which only has a single A/R account. On
our organization's chart of accounts, we have three receivable accounts, and
the choice is then shown as a drop-down box. Thanks for the explanation.
