Nationwide BS: Update Unsuccessful - Why?

Appreciate any help on this. I have been successfully downloading my
statements fine. The last being on Friday night. When I start to sign in
process, I can get in OK for automatic updates. It then connects nu after a
short while an error message appears saying " update successful" in the " To
Review" column.

Does anyone know what is causing this. Is it due to Nationwide or a problem
with MS Money 95. What do I need to do to resolve the problem. Many thanks.

I understand that nationwide stopped supporting versions of Money older than
2002 a couple of years back. I had to buy 2004 because 98 would no longer
work. if 95 has been then I am impressed.

If that is the case then it would seem from other comments here that Money
2004 is the version to go for as 2005 has more problems and less
functionality.

Try contacting (e-mail address removed)

Version of Microsoft Money:
Date and Time you last connected to Money:
Customer Number used to access Microsoft Money:
Details of problem

And save a copy of your answers because the auto reply will probably ask
the same questions again, so you want to be ready to cut and paste - however
you should then get a proper answer.

I have Money 2005 and have no problems with automatic updates from
Nationwide (looks for a piece of wood to touch...). Occasionally it says
the update has failed, but invariably if I try again it works. I also
occasionally can't start Money because it is already running (don't ask
me why, because I always shut it down when I have finished). However if
I zap it from task manager, it then starts OK.

I can't comment on Money 2005 versus older versions, as 2005 was my
first version. They could consider doing some work on improving
transaction matching, getting right what gets entered in the registers
if you transfer funds between accounts, making it more obvious how to
set up an ISA, and making more funds available for automatic update
(probably not Microsoft's fault that one though) - but otherwise I'm
pretty satisfied with what's available.

Thanks for being so quick off the mark and for the tips on the information to
include in the email to Customer Support at Nationwide. I just can't
understand why it was downloading the stements fine on Friday night and
before that and now after a dozen attempts I am having the problems I
described...mmmmmmmm

I have M2k & gave up on Nationwide years back. Everything worked fine until
I got a transaction - I can't remember what it was exactly - but what the
Nationwide server was trying to download into Money, M2k couldn't handle
(but presumably later versions could - something to do with the OFX file
format standard being updated) - I think it was a negative amount or
something.

Anyhow, what I'm suggesting is that the reason it may suddenly have stopped
working may be nothing to do with what you or Nationwide have done - it may
just be that the most recent transactions have arrived in a form that your
version of Money can't handle correctly.

Updating the Money version would therefore fix the problem.
