Hello,

My name is Dustin and I have a youth sports league company. Kids ranging from 3 to 17 pay registration fees and then play in a 12 week league. Sports are soccer and flag football.

The state is trying to have me pay Gross Receipts tax. I don't feel I am subject to the gross receipts tax as no one pays admission to the events. Its a bunch of little kids just play soccer and their parents watching them. So not a general public event where people come watch.

Can anyone assist me or shed light.

Thanks,
Dustin

Looks like the state is considering the registration fees as gross receipts.
If you are a tax exempt organization you can apply for an exemption.
