I began my working career in the military at the age of 17 as a Chinese linguist and separated after four years. Now, almost 20 years and three children later, I am finally embarking on the career field I've wanted to be in since I was in high school. I will be done with my BA in just a couple of months and intend to follow up with my CPA; and granted, I need to brush up on my linguist skills to add Chinese to my Acounting resume. My question is basically at the age of almost-40 by the time I complete everything, how likely are companies to hire someone at my age who is just coming into the field?
