No MS Money Release in 2009...Question

I have read that Microsoft has announced that there will be no Money
release in 2009. My Money Plus is set to expire on 08/09/2009. What
is Money doing for those who are set to expire? Will we have to
worry?

Only time will tell for sure. Nothing has been announced yet.

My **suspicion** is that either a) Microsoft will come up with some way to
take your money to extend that date, or b) the date won't be immediately
enforced.

But I could be completely wrong.

Oh, and what they "announced" (actually let the MVPs pass on) was that "We
are moving off of an annual release cycle for Microsoft Money Plus (no Money
2009 version in the fall), with future release dates TBD." This was
announced relative to a summer/fall 2008 release (the old naming conventions
would have called this "Money 2009".) That *may* mean that there would be a
Money release in calendar year 2009.

Dick,
As a long time user of Money going back to 1995 I tend to agree
with most of your comments. While nobody now knows what Microsoft will
do about the summer, 2009 situation, I agree with you that they will
either let the termination date extend if they are not ready, OR
announce an update process for those of us who last bought the product
two or three years ago. My hard copy of Money 2007 premium says the
online services expire either two years after activation or September
1, 2009. I activated it in the fall of 2006 and it still works fine. I
do not like the download of the program concept instead of the hard
copy bought from a store. That is why I didn't update to the latest
Money Plus version. Anyway, we will all find out what happens next
later this year. Steve
