Payments after filing

Discussion in 'Bankruptcy' started by Mark T. B. Carroll, Oct 4, 2009.

  1. At what point during the bankruptcy process can you make and receive
arbitrary payments without worrying about preferences, fraudulent
transfer, etc.? Is it just the stuff you had at the time of filing, and
stuff you did before filing, that matters? That is (assuming it's just
regular income and not improperly delayed): after filing, can you earn
whatever money you like, and dispose of that new income how you like,
without affecting the bankruptcy process at all? Or should one wait
until after the 341 meeting or the actual discharge or suchlike?
