payroll software

I am in charge of implementing a new payroll system for a small
business (less than 100 employees). Is there any good payroll
software out there that is easy to get going on? Let me know any
recommendations you have.

Thanks,

Jayme

To all,

One good possibility is PenSoft.

I did a review of PenSoft for The CPA Software News (now The CPA
Technology Advisor) last September
(http://www.cpatechadvisor.com/articles/2003/Sept/payroll.shtm). The
review covered a range of payroll packages targeting from 10 to
thousands of employees. PenSoft impressed me for its fast operation
and depth of capabilities.

After the review I learned more about the company, in particular about
its support and training. Exceptional. CPPs and experienced payroll
people, something that is often more sizzle than substance in payroll
software companies (I've worked with a bunch of them). I am also
impressed with their "customer first" business philosophy. It flows
from the CEO down to the support reps. Very impressive operation.

Hope this helps. Mention my name to them and the CPA Software news
review.

Thanks,

Bob

I ran across PenSoft in my seach and downloaded the demo. It is a very
functional, well-designed program. The reports are great, and entering a
payroll is quite easy. There are a few things I'd like to see improved
upon, but all in all I think it rises to the top.

I also got a demo version of a software called Payroll Cafe. Less
expensive, but not nearly as functional as PenSoft.
