POS Crashing due to app running twice



Hi all

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem.

We have a customer who has 4 tills, and has reported that intermittantly
during the day POS crashes during a transaction. Each time we go to log onto
the machine to investigate, you can see POS application open twice in task
manager. Restarting POS application seems to resolve the problem - but it
keeps recurring. Now today we have another customer reporting the same

Is it possible tthat someone is trying to open the POS twice or triple clicking
tthe start up Icon. I have the same problem and found it to be a user issue
rather than a software problem.

I run into this problem on occasion when I'm working on a customers POS system.
It is not a user error; it's happened to me and I know for a fact I didn't
double/tripple click, because I used the keyboard to press enter on the icon.

It is a POS issue, but nobody at Microsoft has been able to reproduce it.
I believe it's related to OPOS drivers, because it never happens on my office
workstation, but it has happened a few times on my demo machine which has
a printer and pole displayer attached. Maybe one of these days when I think
of it I'll run procmon on SOPOSUSER.EXE when it happens.
