Price History

Looking for a bit of help as I don't understand this - - I'm using Quicken
Deluxe 2005 (QD2005), and I normally get price updates daily in my
Portfolio. This past week, I missed a day (Thu) and when I went for the
update Fri as usual, I noticed that it did not show Thu update in the
Portfolio view nor in the Price History. Apparently, it rolled Thu and Fri
totals together and that grand total figure was showing on Fri.

So, I went in and DL'd Historical Prices separately (2 years) figuring that
it would pick-up/fill-in Thu Price histories - WRONG! It did not/would not
pick up the price for Thu in my Price History. What is going on here? This
is a pain in the butt because I like to have the daily history shown and the
only way I can figure out to get it correct is to manually add Thu price for
ALL my securities and that is ridiculous in my view.

Is this the way this "new and improved" version of QD2005 works? - From what
I'm seeing, this version is many steps backwards as far as I'm concerned - I
was using Quicken Deluxe 2002 prior to this and was content with it. IMHO
it was a far better product than the new QD2005.

Off subject, but I need to vent a bit here - the fact that we have been
forced to upgrade to a product (my QD2002 will not work with Turbo Tax 2004,
etc., etc.) that has features taken away (QIF import capability for one)
pisses me off too. It's high time Intuit pays attention to this crap as I
know of many people that are not happy campers with the direction that
Intuit has chosen to go!

Is anyone going to offer a bit of advice regarding my original post shown
below or let me know if there is something I'm not doing that prevents the
historical prices from showing up???

Not updating the DAILY price for a Security/Mutual if I miss a day - Is this
what I have to live with?

Thanks for any response.

Well, I don't know if I can offer any advice, but I can tell you that it
is working for me. I downloaded on 2/28, and then didn't download again
until 3/3. When I went in and checked the price history, the prices for
3/1 and 3/2 were there also. I'm using Quicken 2005 Premier H&B.

I was under the impression the regular update grabbed the last five
days, but I might be wrong. I looked through my settings, but didn't
see anything that would affect this.

Sorry I can't offer any more help, but at least now you know that you're
supposed to get more than just the last day.

Regards,

Gary

Gary - Thanks for your response. I thought too that I SHOULD be getting the
individual updates, and you have confirmed that at least Premier H&B does
that. I think QD2005 should do the complete daily update too! It was never
a problem for me with QD2002. I can't figure out why I'm not getting them.
Hopefully, someone here will have an answer as to what is happening to me
and will offer a fix/solution.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that there is a simple explanation for what
happened and a simpler solution.
