Problem with Payroll Liabilities - all I get is blanks

Using QB Pro 2003, Non-Profit version. We've just started using QB Pro.

When I tried to 'Pay Payroll Liabilities', I can't get anything other than
$0.00 amounts for all categories (withholding, 401(K), etc.). Doesn't seem
to be pulling the info from the generated payroll. (That aspect worked
fine.) I am able to confirm that deductions were made, and that there are
Payroll Items assigned for each of the liabilities. What am I missing? Am
I supposed to have set something else up?
