Public Accounting - missing out on recruiting season

Q

Question

Another question for anyone that has ideas...

I am doing the graduate degree (in tax) and have been told I am going
to miss out on "recruiting season" this fall because I won't know
where my husband is going to be transferred to (next year) until late
in the year/early next year.

What can I possibly do? I have been told the big firms fill up
quickly and that you can rarely get a position after the season is
over. Will I be able to find anything decent?

I'm hoping to have passed the CPA exam when grades are out in Feb if
that would help (I already passed two parts in May)---but I don't
think this helps me now.

Thanks for any advice.

since most firms have a year-end close this is time to hire for those audits
but I would still continue with the graduate degree and cpa, you can
interview and get hired at any time !

Do you really think so? What about if we (my husband and I) get
transferred to a not-so-large city? Will I still be able to find
something?

I'd like to work for a big firm for the experience, but I guess they
fill up so fast and the majority of positions are taken during
recruiting season.
