Add the ability to import a CSV text file that contains all the items that
need to be imported into a Purchase Order. There are businesses that get an
excel spreadsheet from their Vendors of all the items that they should be
receiving via UPS or Fedex. The business does not know what they will be
receiving (ordered) until they get this excel spreadsheet from their vendor.
In some cases, they get an excel spreadsheet that contains over a 1,000 items
that need to be put into a purchase order.

Hi andy...Have you check with PO planner worksheet? this feature will help
you import your csv files into Purchase Order.

I hope it helps :)

That would help with Headquarters. Looking for a solution when not using
Headquarters.

The real problem is that you have to add the 'new' items into inventory
before you can 'build' a PO. If we had a Inventory Import function with a way
to set a item.PO field to a unique value then suck all items with
'min-order-qty' set to PO-order-qty by item.PO. Matrix items create another
set of problems. Since each vendor will have totally different 'format' specs
a Very-Flexable-Import Add-in will be required. Maybe someone has the
wherewithall to do it!

my new thoughts on this is... If i could somehow have a new Item Import
utility that would add new items from the text file. and UPDATE the Sub
Description 1 feild of already existing items. then i could create a purchase
order with a filter on the Sub Description 1.

Because most of my clients are 'apparel' I've found DRS's Matrix-Master the
best method to add new items. Then I enter my unique 'PO/SEasonID' into the
BinLocation field and use their new 'Add-to-PO' functionally or RMS create PO
by filter and supplier. It seems to work ok however it is still too many
'steps' just to create POs and very easy for entry person to 'screw-up' the
order. Anyway it is must better than RMS functions. Perhaps V2.0 will improve?
