Question for those who used PaperPort with Quicken

For the last year and a half I've used PaperPort 8 with Quicken 2002 H&B.
I'm starting to believe that PP will never again be supported in Quicken and
continuing to use this feature will only lead to a point in time where I
will be forced to abandon the work I've done.

So my question is, for those of you who used to use PP with Quicken, what do
you use now? Do you still use PP and just ignore the fact there ever was a
link to Quicken? Do you use the memo field to indicate where the image file
can be found?

IMO PP isn't very impressive in and of itself. I only bought it due to it's
integration with Quicken. I tried to specify the path/filename of the image
in the memo field but the memo field length is too limiting.

I use PaperPort 9 Pro. I have my paper port folders arranged as so it's easy to
find what I'm looking for. ie: folder for each credit card and bank account
etc. by year. This is not as good as a direct link but it works.

Never done this, just curious - what does the PP/Quicken combo allow
you to accomplish?

Nothing now. It's not supported anymore. Previously you could scan
receipts and link the file to a Quicken transaction. I started using
PaperPort about the time Intuit stopped supporting the Quicken-PaperPort
link, so I never actually used this feature. But I *have* started scanning
documents into PaperPort, and I really like it. Version 9.0 even allows you
to scan directly into PDF format without requiring Acrobat. Pretty nifty.

I think my 2002 DL US still "supports" the PP linking (at least some of
the time).

I miss the feature. If Money ever includes a link to scanned files, I'll
move to MONEY as I did to Tax Cut when Intuit started the "validation"
stuff in TurboTax
