Quickbooks keeps crashing.

Hi everybody--boy, I hope someone can help with this. I am running QB
2004 Premier Accountant Edition on winxp. I have some of my QB files
saved on my laptop. When I access those files from other computers in
my office, everything works fine, except one computer. On that
computer, I do a reconcilliation on a customer, the when I attempt to
run a report and hit cancel to cancel printing a check, QB crashes. I
get a system crash file that tells me essentially that qbw32.exe has
encountered some problem involving an exception access violation at
exception id 0cx00000005. Help! Anybody have any idea what could be
causing this to happen on just one computer. All my other computers
access this file just fine, and all are running winxp. Now, I did just
upgrade the memory in this computer recently. Could that somehow be
part of the problem?

Well Intuit's knowlege base has nothing on either of these issues but then I
find their knowledge base to be not-that-knowledgable in general. I'd
recommend uninstalling Quickbooks via the control panel, deleting the folder
from the hard drive afterwards (backup your data first) then install it from
scratch. Sounds like something is corrupt.

Using the problem computer, can you open QB files located on the C:\ drive and perform the same functions that cause the crashes? If so, there's probably nothing wrong with the computer or with QB.

What about using that computer to open other QB files in other network locations (other than the computer where the problem file is located)?

Finally, what about opening other QB files in the same location as the problem file?

These tests should help pin down the source of the problem.

I would suggest trying uninstall, do CTRL ALT DEL and stop
all processes except Explorer and Systray, and then reinstall.
