I transferred my Quicken file to a laptop for travel and when I returned home transferred them back. I can't do a BACKUP now and get a message "Unable to open source document". I browsed and selected the current file and also the target file but still get this message.

Do you have other backup program installed on your system such as DropBox or Carbonite? It is possible that they might be creating some problem. Turn off the DropBox and restart your Quicken.

No other programs. It worked before I transferred the files over to my laptop and back, now it seems to be lost. I did re-boot to no avail. I am copying and pasting now to maintain my backup. I tried re-install the program also. It acts like it cannot locate the source (current) file even though it is the only one open at the time. Thanks for the reply, most appreciated
