USA Reconcile Purchases Clearing

I just started at a new company and I've been tracking the daily variance between the Liability Account - Purchases Clearing and a Purchases Clearing report, which lists Quantities Ordered / Received / Invoiced...along with unit costs.....by PO.

This variance has been jumping around, since I started. Not a large amount. Under 2% of the GL balance but I'd still like to know where it's coming from. I'm not sure where to start. Any ideas? I'm currently isolating one day, hoping to find that variance.

Track specific transactions. See when a certain transaction appears on the Report and when it appears on the Liability Account. Research many of these specific transactions and a difference should become apparent.
