Is there a way to change the behavior of
the reminder window, that is under the
check register, from being always open
to being always closed?
Thanks for your help.

Edit/Preferences.../Register/Downloaded transactions. Check the box
:Automatically add to banking registers
Hope this is what you want. Just in case don't forget how to undo it.

Thanks, did exactly what I asked.
The only problem is that the little
arrow that had appeared just above the
window has also disappeared. I really
would like that to be there.
What I found annoying the old way was
that the reminder window was always open
and therefore occupied a lot of the
space in the register. I would like it
to default in the closed position with
the arrow there so that I could open it
easily

Thank you for your reply.
What I would like is that the sub screen
defaults to the closed instead of the
open position with the up/down arrow
still there.
Any other ideas?

Don't know exactly what you are seeing....
But on my Q2012, looking at my various accounts - Checking, Investments, etc
the top portion shows the register,
the very "bottom line" of the entire screen has 2 tabs -
- Downloaded Transactions
- Bill and Income Reminders

and then the little up/down arrow at the far right...
It would seem the setting is sticky,
as mine always come up this way... with just the "tabs" showing at the very
bottom.

I am using Q2014. I also get the tabs
with the open sub-screen using a lot of
available space,

Not possible. It's a bug in Q2014.

Either you chose to have the downloaded transactions "automatically added"
to your registers, and can not use the "Accept transactions ..." window - or
you always see the "Accept transactions ..." window in an open state.

Concur that it's a bug. It seems, to me, that if there's a scheduled transaction that's due in any account ... the window is open in all of the other banking accounts also.

bummer - they just keep breaking the little things -
In a review of Q 2015, one of the improvements noted was :
"3) The Download Transactions tab no longer open even when there are no
transactions to import."
