Rename Quicken File

G

gianna

I'm fairly new to this group and am enjoying learning more about Quicken. I
am using Quicken 2003 and would like to rename my Quicken file. It's
currently named 2002-2003 but I want it to be 2002-2004.

My second question is that I've archived several years of data and would
like to know how to access that data. Should I do it as an import?

Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks.

1. To Rename a file, open it first, then use File>File Operations>Rename

2. You should be able to access the archived file simply by using File>Open.

In addition to Fred's comments, I would suggest to name the file with a 7
character name and preferably not with a number as the last character.
Quicken's automatic backups will likely truncate the name and mangle it
to abcdef~1.* (with abcdef as the first 6 characters of your name).

Look in the backup directory off your Quicken data doiirectory for what's
there now.
