Restore from backup

Peter

Hi,

I have had to re-load Money 2000 onto my computer. I have a backup of
all my files on another drive, but when i try to restore these files
into my reloaded Money programme i'm prompeted for a password. I have
tried the password i set up to prtect my money account but this
doesnm't appear to be the password the backup file is expecting.

I'm more than a little panic struck at the moment - can anyone please
suggest how to get things back to normal?

So

Open the sample file or create a new file when you run the program, then
connect to the internet for updates. After Money has downloaded all the
updates, try reopening your original file with your normal password...

Hope this helps

Hi Steve,

No joy - I'm still being prompted for a password - the password I used
to use to access money is rejected.

This message usually means that you created the file with a newer version of
Money than you are trying to open it with. If you can't find that version
you can always download the M2005 trial and see if that works (but that is a
one-way path) you can find a download at
http://money.mvps.org/downloads/default.aspx NB make sure you get the right
regional version they are not mix and match!

Hi Bob,

Thanks very much for the help.I have now loaded a brand new UK version
of Money 2005 onto my PC and have managed to load my back-up file into
it - all my previous details are there, but am now having a problem
updating my current account with updates from my bank (HSBC) - please
see new thread for details.
