Restoring from backup

Our computer recently crashed and I have a backup copy of
our money. But when I went in to restore from backup it
asks for a password. My husband and I never used a
password on our home computer. Also, the money 2002 cd
has a spider crack in the back - I can't feel it but I can
see it. Is there a way to fix the spider crack and
install the newer version?

Generally when Money asks for a password on a file known not to have one, it
is trying to tell you that the file was written with a newer version of
Money than you are trying to use to read it. Granted, this is a goofy way to
try to tell you this...
