Sage Line 50v10 - Installation Problems

Could someone please help urgently.

I am trying to re-install Sage Line50v10 and I get stuck when it comes to
"Setup is configuring the ODBC."

The computer stops there and there is no further movement.

I cannot call Sage because I haven't taken additional Support.

Call Sage, it isn't suppport you want it is a working program, you
can Google uk.legal for reams of advice on this sort of scenario.

My truth dice say:

"Sage will not be able to help you. Upgrade to a later version
of Windows (if feasible, *full back-up*). If it *still* doesn't work
take it back to the shop."

Assuming you are installing to a network:

Try installing from different works stations. The only Sage I've ever
installed (Sage FAPP formerly Hartley) is particular about where you
are installing from. You *cannot* install the Server from the
Server. Try installing to another computer. If you don't have
another computer go out and buy one.

It isn't additional support, it's installation which means you have to
ring Sage to get your licence number.

You did buy it, didn't you ?

I paraphrase qoute "Im sick of lying, thats why I left", its words the same,
structure and exact wording may differ,
but thats what was said by one girl that left sage support, I know from
working at Sage R&D that the support people have to lie on
a regular basis, and the R&D guys now whats wrong, but usually are not
allowed to fix what they want to.

I had the exact same problem it didn't matter how many times I tried, it would hang at the "Setup is configuring the ODBC."

I found this article and it helped me solve the problem.
