SEPs and Catch up contributions

I am new to this forum but I was wondering if any one knew
if the IRS allows a self-employed indiviual who has a SEP
plan and is over 50 years old, to make a catch up
contribution?

If the answer is yes, can the person amend the return to
take advantage of the catch-up contribution?

Thanks
Sam
