Hi
I'm just trying to understand how the same calculation for stock qty/price mix can produce two vastly differnet results.
In the shortened summary below, the volume movement YOY for the sum of all products is +£28, yet the sum of the same calculation for individual products is £-20. (i.e £-60 + £40)
Total Volume Price
Product 1 -£40 -£60 £20
Product 2 £30 £40 -£10
-£10 £28 -£38
Sum -£20 £10
This obvioulsy gives out two very different results, i.e is the YOY movement due to volume or price?
Any help on the bit i'm missing appreciated.
