USA Small Business Not sending W2's

I have a question is there/ what is the penalty for a small business not sending their employees their W2's. I am still in school studying to be an accountant, my former employer has not sent my W2's or any of their former employees their W2's. ( They closed a few months ago, but reopened another business in the same field). I know they have until the end of the month. I am just curious, I know if I do not receive it I'll have to fill out an alternate form I believe it was 4852. I had contacted them to confirm my mailing info with them.
