Start up costs

I have just registered a new business with HMRC and am awaiting a UTR. I have been collecting stock and equipment for a good while now (4 years), which was done whilst working, with the intention to start my business upon retirement, which I now am.
My questions are- 1: Can I include this outlay in my startup costs?
2: I have already paid enough NI contributions, must I still pay class 2 in this new venture?
Thanks in anticipation

Hello and welcome to the forums :)

I've got a few questions first - will you be setting up your business through a limited company or will you be self employed? Also, what age will you be when you start working on the business?
