Hello everyone,

I have a question based on initial investment during the startup of an S-corp.

How would one account for startup services to a s-corp. If I did the bookkeeping and the accounting for an s-corp where I am 50% owner, would I be able to account for those services as my part of my initial investment.

Most states have minimum capitalization rules for entities incorporated in their jurisdictions and they usually allow shareholders to count the value of their services. But that's a legal issue and not an accounting matter. Check the rules for your state of incorporation.
